Overview
GoGuide is a comprehensive, user-friendly smart campus navigator designed and developed by a team of five third-year college students to address the challenges faced by freshmen and other students in navigating the complex landscape of a college campus. As newcomers to the college environment, we experienced firsthand the difficulties of locating departments, professors, classrooms, and other essential resources for administrative tasks, academic needs, and daily campus life. To solve this problem, we created GoGuide, a web-based platform that leverages cutting-edge technologies, including Generative AI (GenAI), to provide students with an intuitive, efficient, and personalized navigation and information hub for their campus journey.
Problem Statement
Navigating a college campus can be overwhelming, especially for freshmen who are unfamiliar with the layout, departmental structure, and operational processes. Key challenges include:
- Difficulty in locating professors’ offices for consultations or administrative paperwork.
- Confusion about classroom locations for lectures and events.
